Las Vegas Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson talks with reporters during training camp at the Intermountain Healthcare Performance Center in Henderson Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

Daniel Carlson will be kicking for his team — and good causes — once again this season.

The Las Vegas Raiders and Credit One Bank are teaming up for the second consecutive season for the 'One for the Community' program to help aid After-School All-Stars and Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada.

For every successful extra point by Carlson this upcoming season, the bank will donate $2,000 to benefit both programs. Carlson converted 30 of 33 PAT attempts to raise $60,000, a success worthy enough to bring the program back for a second time.

“It’s a really cool deal because obviously it ties into our football success. The more we score touchdowns, the more extra points we kick, the more money we raise for the Boys & Girls Club and the After-School All-Stars," said Carlson, who signed a four-year extension with the Raiders this past December. "It’s really cool getting to be a part of the community here in Las Vegas."

Carlson, who lives two miles away from a Boys & Girls Club, tries to get there as often as he can to visit the kids and talk with them.

He'll play Sharks and Minnows with the kids, a classic tag game where a designated group is the sharks trying to prevent the Minnow group from reaching the safe zone.

“I feel like a pretty good athlete out there," he said. "When I’m on the practice field with (my teammates) running around, I’m maybe one of the slower ones, but when I’m competing against third-graders, I feel like a pretty good athlete all of a sudden.”

The Raiders begin the regular season Sept. 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium.

"It doesn’t take a lot of time from my life," Carlson said. "Just a few minutes here and there can make a kid’s day. We were one of those kids not too long ago so it’s an honor and blessing to be in this position we’re in to be able to give back and hang out with our community and these kids. It’s really special.”
