Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Daniil Miromanov (42) warms up before an NHL hockey game at T-Mobile Arena Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022.

The Golden Knights took care of one of their restricted free agents Tuesday, signing defenseman Daniil Miromanov to a two-year deal, the team announced.

The deal carries a cap hit of $762,500.

Miromanov, who signed an entry-level deal with Vegas last season after playing two seasons with HK Sochi in the KHL in Russia, played 11 games with the Golden Knights in 2022 but had just one point.

He made his NHL debut Oct. 24 but garnered attention during the preseason when he scored three goals in two games against the Los Angeles Kings in Salt Lake City.

It was in Henderson where Miromanov made his biggest impact. The 24-year-old blue liner led all skaters with 29 assists in 53 games with the Silver Knights, en route to reaching the Calder Cup Playoffs.

The forward-turned-defenseman was used sparingly in his time with the Golden Knights because of the crowded depth at the position.

That will likely be the case again for Miromanov entering training camp this summer, with Ben Hutton and Dylan Coghlan ahead of him as the seventh and eighth defensemen on the depth chart.
