Police: Skateboarder, 15, who fell while clinging to SUV has died

A 15-year-old boy injured after falling off a skateboard while clinging to the side of a moving SUV has died, Metro Police said today.

The incident happened about 9 p.m. Friday near Forsythe Drive and Skywood Way, police said.

A 2018 Jeep Wrangler was heading west on Forsythe with the teen clinging to the passenger side while on a skateboard, police said. The teen was ejected from the skateboard and run over by the Jeep, police said.

The boy was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition, police said. He died on Tuesday, police said.

The driver, Destiny Jimenez, 19, of Las Vegas, was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on counts of DUI, reckless driving and driving without a license, according to police and jail records.
