Carrot Top performs at Luxor in Las Vegas

Carrot Top is the longest-running headlining comedian in Las Vegas and on November 22, he celebrated his 17th anniversary performing at Luxor. Since opening in 2005, he has performed close to 4,000 shows for more than a million guests, including celebrity fans and friends like Vince Neil, Nicolas Cage, Tracy Lawrence, Anderson .Paak, Gene Simmons and Amy Poehler. Also known as Scott Thompson, he has headlined in Las Vegas for more than 25 years overall and continues his show at the Atrium Showroom at Luxor Monday through Saturday at 8 p.m.

As reported this week in Las Vegas Weekly, The B-52s are all set for a 10-show residency at the Venetian Theatre starting on May 5. When detailing how it came together during our short call this week, founding member and singer Fred Schneider also shared his excitement about being able to spend more than a couple of days in Las Vegas. He didn’t have any spare time when the group played the same venue three times in October, but that’s going to change. “I have done some exploring in the past because I have good friends there, so I’ll come in a couple days early and we’ll go record hunting, go to the Burlesque Hall of Fame Museum, and I’ve been to Red Rock Canyon which is amazing,” Schneider said. “I always enjoy myself in Las Vegas.”

Other concerts and entertainment event announcements this week include: Puerto Rican singer J Alvarez drops in on the north Strip this weekend, performing at the Sahara Theatre on December 3; and rapper and Life Is Beautiful headliner Jack Harlow announced new residency dates at Zouk Nightclub and Ayu Dayclub for 2023, including March 18 and May 27.

Linq headliner Mat Franco recently celebrated the 2,000th performance of “Mat Franco: Magic Reinvented Nightly” at his namesake theater by donating 2,000 meals to Three Square Food Bank to help feed food insecure Southern Nevadans. Franco continues his partnership with Three Square with a virtual food drive where fans and supporters can donate through the end of the year, with info at threesquare.org/matfranco. “I know I would not have reached my 2,000th show without the support of my fans and the Las Vegas community,” he said in a statement. “I wanted to use this as an opportunity to give back to an important organization in our local community which helps so many people in need in Southern Nevada.”

Exxcite The Show,” which continues its residency at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, is set for another pop-up production at the Shreveport, Louisiana location of the gentleman’s club on December 9 and 10. Producer and choreographer Jennifer Romas created “Exxcite” after closing her long-running “Sexxy” revue at Westgate Las Vegas, and the touring show concept recently hit the Hustler Club in New York City. The Shreveport performances will be more of the same, a topless female revue with rotating specialty acts, go-go dancers, interactive elements and over-the-top bottle service presentations.
