Nathan Chasing Horse, the former “Dances With Wolves” actor arrested this week on counts of sexual assault, abuse and sex trafficking, was ordered today to remain in jail without bail.

Chasing Horse, 46, was arrested Tuesday by Metro Police and booked at the Clark County Detention Center on a count of sexual assault of a child less than 16 years old, two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sex trafficking of an adult and one count of child abuse or neglect.

Judge Belinda T. Harris today delayed hearing arguments from any parties at the North Las Vegas Justice Court, saying the court would reconvene next week once everyone has had sufficient time to prepare.

Members of Chasing Horse’s family filled the front row of the courtroom. “He has a great deal of support,” the actor’s attorney, Michael Wilfong, said.

Chasing Horse is believed to be the leader of a cult known as The Circle with a strong following of people who believed he could communicate with higher powers, according to an arrest warrant.

Police said he abused his position, physically and sexually assaulting Indigenous girls and women, taking underage wives and leading the cult. He was arrested outside the home he shares with his five wives near Las Vegas, police said.

Metro Police said in the search warrant that investigators identified at least six sexual assault victims, including one who was 13 when she claims to have been abused.

Chasing Horse will appear in court again Feb. 6.
