Metro police announced they have identified a suspect in the Las Vegas murder of two women in the 1990s, which had been labeled cold cases, in a news release.

Based on genealogical testing performed in June 2022, Eddie George Snowden was identified as a possible suspect in the murders, police stated. Snowden, who was born in January 1937 died of natural causes in February 2017.

Investigators stated they were able to obtain the DNA of Snowden’s biological family to confirm he was the person who sexually assaulted and murdered the women in both cases.

The body of Lori Ann Perera, 31, was discovered in a desert area near a store in the 2800 block of East Charleston Boulevard on Dec. 11, 1992. Her cause of death was ruled to be asphyxia due to manual strangulation with blunt force trauma.

Pearl Wilson Ingram was found dead in a garbage receptacle behind a grocery store in the 4400 block of East Charleston on Jan. 11, 1994.

Detectives at the time of those murders were unable to identify any suspects in either woman’s death, and the cases remained unsolved.

As Snowden is deceased, no arrests will be made in the cases.
