A female was pronounced dead today after a shooting in a residential neighborhood in the southwest valley, according to Metro Police.
The shooting was reported about 9:05 a.m. near the 9800 block of Venus Lake Court, in the area of Fort Apache and Gomer roads, police said.
Officers found a female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said. She was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
No additional details were immediately released.
The investigation was ongoing, police said.
