UNLV’s School of Nursing has earned two top 10 rankings for its online program, according to the U.S. News & World Report.

The 2023 U.S. News & World Report released today ranked UNLV 10th overall in the nation for their online nursing master’s program. It rose five spots from 2022, according to school officials.

In specialty programs, the family nurse educator track ranked 10th while the nurse educator track fell in 11th place.

“We are proud of this ranking as one measure of our school’s excellence,” said Angela Amar, dean of the UNLV School of Nursing in a statement. “This stems from our priority to recruit and retain world class faculty, staff and students coupled with our determination to prepare highly capable clinicians and leaders who will positively impact health and health care in Nevada.”

UNLV’s School of Nursing has been in the top 30 for online nursing programs since the U.S. News & World Report began ranking these schools in 2012, UNLV officials said.

Other online programs at UNLV are climbing the ranks as well, officials said. The online bachelor’s degree in psychology rose to rank 20th in 2023, and their business program was listed 32nd.

The U.S. News & World Report assesses online undergraduate and graduate programs each January. Rankings are determined by a list of criteria including engagement, faculty credentials and expertise, services and ability for distance learning, expert opinion, and student performance.
