Man gets 10-year sentence for fentanyl trafficking in Nevada

A five-time convicted felon has been sentenced to a decade in prison for conspiring to sell large amounts of fentanyl — the synthetic opioid that killed a record more than 100,000 Americans in 2021, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada.

Robert Dillon pleaded guilty in July 2022 to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, after he agreed with his brother and others to distribute at least 40 grams of fentanyl. In May 2019, the 46-year-old Dillon possessed a .380 caliber pistol during a drug sale, the attorney’s office said.

Dillon was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey to 10 years in prison and four years of supervised release.

His case was investigated by the ATF and DEA Las Vegas District Office, the attorney’s office said.

His brother, nine-time convicted felon Melvin Dillon, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and was sentenced to 128 months in prison.
