UNLV Rebels head coach Barry Odom calls out to players during the UNLV Spring Showcase at Allegiant Stadium Saturday, April 8, 2023.

The UNLV football team will play half its games on national television in 2023.

The Mountain West announced its TV schedule on Wednesday, and the Scarlet and Gray will be featured in six national contests, starting with their Week 2 matchup at Michigan on Sept. 9. That game will air on CBS, while the following week’s home tilt against Vanderbilt (Sept. 16) will air on CBS Sports Network.

UNLV will then wrap its non-conference schedule with a road game at UTEP on Sept. 23, which will be carried by an ESPN network.

UNLV is aiming for a bowl berth this season after firing previous coach Marcus Arroyo and hiring former Missouri head coach Barry Odom. Odom was most recently the defensive coordinator at Arkansas for the past three seasons.

Three of the team’s Mountain West contests will air on national TV, starting with UNLV’s road game at Fresno State on Oct. 28 (FOX network). The Nov. 10 game vs. Wyoming will air on FS1, and CBS Sports Network will show the Nov. 18 game at Air Force.

The rest of UNLV's TV schedule will be announced later in the offseason. Last year, seven of UNLV’s games ended up airing on national television (all on CBS Sports Network). They also appeared on the Peacock streaming service when they played at Notre Dame.
