Metro investigating fatal shooting of teenager in central Las Vegas

A teenager was fatally shot Saturday night in central Las Vegas, according to Metro Police.

Officers at about 9:17 p.m. were called to the 200 block of East Flamingo Road, where they located 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound, officials said today in a news release. The teen was transported to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was celebrating a friend’s birthday before being shot, officials said. The incident in being investigated by Metro’s homicide division, although the news release had no mention of a suspect.
