More “MNF” will air on ABC because of strikes

LOS ANGELES (AP) – ABC will air “Monday Night Football” for all 18 weeks of the regular season. Ten of the games were set to appear only on ESPN but will be simulcast on ABC. It’s because the writers and actors strikes are drying up the available programming for the fall TV season. ABC also will have simulcasts of two playoff games.

“A Million Miles” tells story of migrant worker-turned-astronaut

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - José M. Hernández grew up in a family of migrant farm workers and applied eleven times to NASA before he was accepted as an astronaut for the International Space Station in 2009. Hernández’s story is the basis for the new movie “A Million Miles.” Hernández says getting up at 4:30 every morning to work in the hot sun taught him resilience. He says actor Michael Peña not only captured his personality, but accurately portrayed his “impostor syndrome.” “A Million Miles” is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video.

“Wonder Years” cancelled

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The new version of “The Wonder Years” is being canceled after two seasons, according to Variety. The reimagined series followed a Black middle-class family in Montgomery, Alabama, through the eyes of 12-year-old Dean. Fred Savage from the original version was one of the show's producers.

Aronofsky's “Postcard from Earth” will show at Sphere

LAS VEGAS (AP) – Director Darren Aronofsky is planning a big show for his next movie. Aronosfky will show his film “Postcard from Earth” on the Sphere in Las Vegas on a screen 336 feet high and 516 feet wide. “Postcard from Earth” will be an immersive experience described as “part sci-fi story, part nature documentary.” It premieres Oct. 6. U2 will perform “Achtung Baby Live” at Sphere on Sept. 29.
