2012 Las Vegas Sun Youth Forum

The 56th annual Las Vegas Sun Youth Forum is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012. The first forum, created by then-Sun publisher and founder Hank Greenspun, was in 1956, attracting 96 students from five high schools.

About the Youth Forum

In 1955, Las Vegas Sun founder Hank Greenspun approached his newspaper’s staff with a concept to gather students and have them debate topics that interested them. More than 50 years later, Greenspun’s mission is still going strong. Many former participants have gone on to be community leaders, including Sen. Harry Reid and Former Rep. Shelley Berkley.
