The top judicial races in Nevada are for two seats on the Supreme Court, seats B and D. The main contest is for Seat B, which is opening up with the retirement of former Chief Justice William Maupin.
The Seat B race features Kris Pickering, a Settlement Judge for the Nevada Supreme Court, and Deborah Schumacher, a judge on the Washoe County Family Court.
The Seat D race features Chief Justice Mark Gibbons, who is seeking re-election against challenger Thomas Christensen, a Las Vegas-based personal injury lawyer who has served as a District Court arbitrator since 1992.
Another judicial race of interest is the District Court, Dept. 23 race to see who will fill the seat of embattled District Judge Elizabeth Halverson, who lost the primary to Jason Landess and Stefaney Miley.
