Derek and Julie Jones talk to neighbors after their 30-foot mesquite tree was uprooted after a brief, intense windstorm swept through parts of Henderson after 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011. The couple live at the corner of Leaf Bud Court and Teal Point Lane. "We're just lucky," Derek Jones said, "that the wind was blowing the direction it did, otherwise it would have landed on our house." His pregnant wife remarked that her son will grow up without knowing what it's like to have a tree in the yard.
