Seismic specialist and UW professor emeritus Steve Malone, left, UW graduate student Carl Ulberg center, and Victor Kress, of the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, assembled and tested a passive seismic station design in Kress's Lake Forest Park home backyard May 12, 2014. Up to 70 of the passive sensing arrays will be installed up to thirty miles form Mount St. Helen's this spring and summer as part of a battery of multidisciplinary imaging experiments.
