Sun’s preseason high school football rankings

The Las Vegas Sun’s preseason high school football rankings look similar to the end of last season. Two-time defending state champion Bishop Gorman High is in the top spot and perennial power Palo Verde is No. 2. Gorman and Palo Verde have been the state’s top teams the past four years. The rest of the rankings are Del Sol (the state runner-up in 2009), Arbor View, Liberty, Las Vegas High, Centennial, Desert Pines, Canyon Springs and Silverado. The season begins Aug. 26 for most teams.
