Miss USA Hula Hoop Contest

The 51 contestants vying for the title of Miss USA, wearing matching black spandex shorts, black tank tops and wedges, and their respective state sashes, competed in a hula hoop contest at Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops Friday, June 10, 2011. Richard Simmons, the fitness personality who is somehow more energetic than he was 30 years ago, was the celebrity judge and host of the fun-loving and chaotic contest. The winner, Miss Florida, who could twirl a hula hoop around her neck, snagged a shoe shopping spree and $1,000 to the charity of her choice. The 2011 Miss USA Pageant will be held Sunday, June 19 at Planet Hollywood.
