Da Vinci Sculpture on Display at Venetian
Tue, Aug 21, 2012 (5 p.m.)
An original bronze casting of the Leonardo da Vinci “Horse and Rider” sculpture is displayed at the Imagine Exhibitions Gallery in the Venetian on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012. Created from a block of wax, a model of the sculpture was an early step in an apparently unfinished sculpture-casting process. In 1985, a mold was created to preserve da Vinci’s work as the wax began to deteriorate. The display is part of the “Da Vinci — The Genius” exhibition at the gallery.
