Firefighters Discuss MGM Grand Fire

Firefighters get together at the Las Vegas Sun offices Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012. The firefighters were involved in fighting the MGM Grand fire on Nov. 21, 1980. Eighty-five people died in the fire.

I do remember that fire very well as my wife and myself lived just a few blocks from the hotel at that time.We drove down to the hotel and watched the smoke pour out of the building with helicopters flying above.It was a very sad time, and equally as sad today reading about it again in the Sun newspaper 32 years later.Brave fireman,paramedics,policemen,and military all working hand in hand to rescue people trapped in the hotel.God bless them all.
