Officials Celebrate Creation of Tule Springs National Monument

Elected officials, members of the Las Vegas Pauite tribe and guests attend a news conference marking the creation of the Tule Springs National Monument at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort northwest of Las Vegas, Monday, Dec. 22, 2014. The 22,650 acre site on the northern edge of the Las Vegas Valley features fossils from the Ice Age, including mammoths, bison, American Lions, camelops and sloths.
