Elderly Ballroom with UNLV Therapy Students

The Atria Sutton assisted living community invited students from the UNLV Physical Therapy department, who have conducted balance assessments and other health-focused information sessions, to participate in a ballroom dancing event. Part of the students’ role was to serve as partners and encourage residents to dance. The other was to ensure the residents did not exceed their physical limitations while on the dance floor. The community created this activity to foster more social interaction among its residents and provide a fun form of exercise.
