Vegas Marries the Military

Fri, Nov 10, 2017 (8:23 p.m.)

Wedding chapels and venues across Las Vegas kicked off Veterans Day weekend with the debut of “Las Vegas Marries the Military.” All day Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, chapels and wedding professionals across the Las Vegas opened their doors to members of the Armed Forces by donating wedding services to selected military members. The Las Vegas Wedding Chamber of Commerce put a call out to its members to participate and received overwhelming support – 40 members offered free services valued at nearly $40,000, and 11 ceremonies were accepted in this nationwide call to the Armed Forces. Nine of the ceremonies are vow renewals while two are weddings. Members of the Armed Forces have a variety of backgrounds from active-duty to retired and in between, with stories of marriage by proxy, using this time to spend together before deployment and more.
