Ice Age Fossils State Park

Tue, Jan 2, 2018 (11:53 a.m.)

Ice Age Fossils State Park, part of Governor Sandoval’s 2017 Explore Your Nevada initiative, will protect 315 acres in North Las Vegas. The park is located right off Decatur Blvd and is open to the public. It remains rich with fossils and shells from the ice age, with a higher chance of discovery following rain. It is also home of the 1962-1963 “Big Dig”-the largest scientific expedition of its kind up to that point.
