Kats Report Radio Show — Melody’s Suite

The Spiegelworld Tent is once more the site of a variety show hosted and produced by this week’s guest, “Absinthe” star Melody Sweets. Set for midnight July 30 is “Call of the Wild: Jungle Burlesque,” featuring a freewheeling rollout of such side acts as crossbow artists Mr. and Mrs. G (also joining the radio show); ex- “Zumanity” performer Wassa Coulibaly; high-wire artist Lijana Wallenda and her Wire Walking Wonders, Andrew Adams and Will Howard; Scotty the Blue Bunny and 2015 Miss Exotic World Trixie Little. The show benefits Siegfried & Roy’s SARMOTI Foundation, dedicated to the protection and preservation of endangered animals around the world, with focus on the big cats: tigers, lions, cheetahs, panthers and leopards.

Kats Report Radio Show — Lord of The Space

Former “Rock of Ages” co-star Mark Shunock is opening a new community center and live-entertainment fortress called The Space, which hosts an open house Friday and will be the home of his monthly “Mondays Dark” charity shows beginning in January. Shunock, who just left his post as entertainment director at Intrigue, talks about the charity production and and other performances and events he envisions at The Space.

Martin talks of the musical, co-written by renowned TV writer Buddy Sheffield (“In Living Color”) and “Jersey Boys” Music Director Keith Thompson, and why he decided the Smith Center should invest in the production.

Las Vegas vocalist Elisa Fiorillo was a backing singer for Prince’s New Generation lineup for five years, running from 2009-2014, and knew the artist for 25 years. She most recently reunited with many of her bandmates backing Shiela E. during a tribute to Prince at the BET Awards telecasts from Los Angeles. Fiorillo recalls the impact the legendary composers and performer had on her life and career, her favorite moments in her time with him, and talks of her upcoming gigs with Earl Turner at South Point and the Bruce Harper Big Band at the Smith Center.
