SDSU POSTGAME: "Like a casual Friday before a three-day weekend"

Sat, Mar 13, 2010 (10:26 p.m.)

Ryan Greene and Ray Brewer discuss a 55-45 UNLV loss in the MWC title game to San Diego State, which didn't necessarily burst the Rebels' NCAA tournament hopes, but rather will simply affect their seeding in the field of 65. Roughly 20 hours after an epic night of semifinal action, fabulous freshman Kawhi Leonard paced the Aztecs to a victory with 16 points and a career-high 21 rebounds.

  1. Wow. As an Aztec alum, I checked the Sun's site for reaction to the MWC Tournament Championship game and came away laughing at your petulant homeristic comments:

    * SDSU "laid an egg" in last year's MWC Tournament Championship game (they lost 52-50; where was UNLV? Oh yeah, they were ousted by SDSU).

    * SDSU's season is made...you don't see them winning a game in the NCAAs (of course, you envision a Sweet-16 run by the Rebels after losing for the 5th time in 6 tries to SDSU over the course of the last two seasons, 4 of which on UNLV's home court).

If SDSU's so bad, how the heck do you envision UNLV not being able to beat SDSU but win in the NCAAs? As a MWC fan, I wish success to all the MWC teams in the Big Dance, including UNLV. However, as a Rebel fan, you better hope for favorable matchups when seeded that do not involve pairing the Rebels against teams with any kind of talent on the blocks, because UNLV is woefully equipped to handle a team with any kind of talent from their bigs. Regardless, good luck.
