Greene's Take: Jasper's first season in uniform at UNLV was derailed by a mid-season sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee, the same knee that he had operated on while still at Kentucky. When he went down, he was hitting his peak as a guy who gave UNLV a bit of everything — scoring, rebounding and facilitating the offense. The biggest challenge for Jasper in 2010-11 will be clearing the mental hurdle that comes with a second significant injury to the same knee.

UNLV career: Jasper enters his third season in the Runnin' Rebel program in 2010-11 ... Transferred to UNLV from Kentucky after the 2007-08 season ... Sat out the 2008-09 season as a redshirt because of NCAA transfer rules ... Was named the 2009-10 Preseason Mountain West Conference Newcomer of the Year.

Junior (2009-10): Started each of UNLV's first 21 games of the season before suffering a sprain of his left MCL against Air Force ... He did not play the rest of the season ... Also had seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in UNLV's first road win of the season vs. the Wildcats ... Grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds and scored seven points in a win against Weber State ... Scored a career-high-tying 14 points at Hawaii ... Scored at least one 3-pointer in nine games.

Junior - Redshirt (2008-09): Used the 2008-09 season as a redshirt year after transferring to UNLV from Kentucky.

Kentucky: As a true freshman in 2006-07, played in 34 games and started the final 27 ... The Wildcats won their first 11 games with him as a starter ... Was second on the team and third among SEC freshmen with 2.9 assists per game ... Shot .613 from the field ... Underwent microfracture knee surgery before the 2007-08 season ... As a sophomore, missed 11 games (10 during knee rehabilitation) ... Shot .457 from 3-point range and averaged 5.5 rebounds per game ... Scored a career-high 14 points against Florida at the end of the 2007-08 season.

High School: A 2006 graduate of Paso Robles (Calif.) High School ... Was MVP of the Adidas Super 64 in Las Vegas ... An all-league player for three years, including being PAC 5 MVP twice and all-county for three years ... Named county player of the year two years in a row ... Was the Bearcat Athletic Foundation Outstanding Achievement Award winner ... Averaged 21 points, seven rebounds and seven assists per game ... Coached by Scott Larson.
