Nickname: K-Fed, McLovin
Strengths: Has been switched to shooting guard and could be challenged to find playing time as the group around him has been upgraded. He has been somewhat consistent with his 3-pointer in fall practice.
Weaknesses: Can get frustrated. After one miss during practice, he smacked the pad atop the scorer’s table with a hard right hand, startling the visitor sitting two feet from him. He hopes to eliminate that, so he doesn’t distract his teammates and exacerbate a slump.
As a freshman (2.4 ppg, 1.0 rpg)
Scored his season high in his debut as a Rebel, with nine points at Northern Arizona. His first points in a UNLV uniform arrived on a four-point play. Only hit 20.8 percent of his 3-point attempts as a rookie.
At Mesa (Ariz.) Mountain View High
Holds the school records in scoring, assists and steals. Went 61-4 his final two prep seasons. The Toros won three consecutive state championships, the first 5A team to do so since 1961.
Quoting
“Oooooh, I get so mad at myself sometimes. I need to try not to show so much emotion this season. I have to hold myself back from that. It can effect what my teammates think of me and it can affect my confidence. I need to keep it to myself, try not to show any emotion.”
