Most regard Silva as the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world. "The Spider" (6-0 in UFC bouts) is known for his superior all-around abilities in the Octagon, but especially for being a phenomenal striker that is capable of ending a fight from any position.

Last fight: UFC 82 PRIDE OF A CHAMPION. Submission (Choke) at 4:52 in the 2nd over Dan Henderson (March 1, 2008).

Irvin bio

The former college football player will have a significant weight advantage. "The Sandman" is capable of recording quick knockouts as his UFC record-tying KO of Houston Alexander eight seconds into their fight in April confirms. The construction worker from Huntington Beach, Calif. prefers Muay Thai techniques, but says he knows he'll have to keep Silva in the clinch to have a shot at victory.
