Justiceshop: I smell a little BS here. Nice try.

rejco100: What is SHOCKING to me, is that you seem to think you are the only one with brains. You think all of the 100+ families that have relatives there are clueless. Maybe the reason they have not removed their loved ones from there is because they know the place is not as bad as you have been led to believe. The fact that they still have their family members living there after all of these BS stories should tell you something.

You're exactly right "regal2929." I have been there also. Everyone else commenting here is doing so based upon irresponsible journalism. Mr. Allen, why don't you get your butt out of your chair and do some real investigative reporting. Speak to some residents currently living there. Face to face. Meet with some employees currently working there instead of speaking to some alleged former employees that obviously caused the problems the current staff is working hard to correct. The new staff they have on board is working long hard hours every day and is making a difference. The quality of care the residents are getting is nowhere near what these stories would have the public believe. If anyone walked through the place you would wonder if this was the same place you have been reading about. The only crime would be if this place did shut down. That would be an injustice.

There are no strung-out junkies working there. And it is obvious from this article that the snitch is the former wellness director. The only thing she has done right is report the problems to the state. She is a big reason why there are problems there. It was her job to make sure the residents were cared for properly and she did not do her job. Her poor job at supervising her staff led to the problems. Now she is trying to blame the problems she caused on other people. As the wellness director, she had the power to rectify the problems and was too incompetent to do it. The Sun should be looking at her instead of just listening to her complaints. Thank god the place has competent people in place now. Give them some time and they will turn it around.

All 139 residents are on medication because they all have health problems. That is why they are in an assisted living facility. These people are not first brought into the facility and then put on medication. I know some people who work in that facility and I have been there. The overall care the residents get there is not as bad as this article would have you believe. Yes, there are problems there that have been caused by bad onsite management staff in the past. But, they are gone and highly qualified staff has just taken over. Very quickly that place will be turned around. With our aging population, more assisted living facilities will be needed. They provide a vital service to our communities.
