Please correct the title. Musketeer, seriously?

*facepalm*

"The last third would come in the form of a sort of tax-incremental financing plan, which would help developers obtain long-term financing. UNLV is expected to ask the Legislature for a special tax district to help support the stadium's construction."

There it is. It's just *so fantastic* that the private developer is either unable or unwilling to secure enough private financing to pay for it all. Will the developers be on the hook if it fails, or will we?

As to all these "anticipated" events - it sounds awfully (and by that I mean 'unrealistically') presumptive. Plus, isn't the Electric Daisy Carnival already here? That's not going to pump more money into the local economy if it was already going to be here. It leads me to wonder whether the economic impact report is only counting what will be added and ignoring what will be lost. All over the country, big stadiums for things like professional sports teams routinely fail to boost economies as claimed (and are often a drain instead), because they cannibalize other leisure activities. People spend at the stadium instead of spending at the movies, or restaurants, etc. It sounds like they expect the stadium to cannibalize other venues as well as other forms of entertainment. Lose/lose.

So, food trucks don't have to follow rules and regulations? I bet that's news to them. If it's so much easier to just get a food truck, I'm sure restaurant owners are lining up to dump their properties to avoid those onerous regulations. No? You think maybe physical locations have advantages that food trucks do not? Of course they do. As different businesses they have pros and cons that match in some areas and differ in others, and there's room for both. Restaurant owners complaining about competition from a different approach is just so much whining. You are not automatically entitled to customers. My walking in front of your restaurant does not make me yours, to be 'stolen' from you.

"Which Presidential candidate will stop the illegal alien invasion into this sovereign nation?"

Francis,
Deportations have hit an all-time high under Obama. In addition, the number of illegal immigrants residing in the US has *declined* or remained flat in recent years. The "invasion" you are so worried about does not actually exist. And illegal immigrants who do live here on average contribute more in taxes than they use in social services. So building a gigantic fence would be an even more gigantic waste of money. It would cost far, far more than we'd save and that's just not good stewardship of the public's funds.

Illegals are also not allowed to vote, and the risk for an illegal immigrant to attempt it is so much higher than the reward that they'd have to be some kind of idiot to even try. To think there would be enough of them trying it, and succeeding, to influence an election is xenophobic paranoia.

So rest easy! No need to be so angry and afraid.
Don't you feel so much better now?

You're welcome.

BChap: it would be a good idea for you to refresh your knowledge on the subject of sarcasm - how it's used, and how to recognize it.
