This review was very helpful and set proper expectations for the show. (Thank Google for making you first on "Wayne Newton Tropicana Review")

Some of the glitzier elements have been removed (at least in the Wednesday show in April 2010) : there was no bus pull up and no camo.

The show runs 90 minutes. The set list:
- Viva Las Vegas
- That's Life
- You're Nobody Til Someone Loves You (The duet with Sammy Davis Jr)
- Summer Wind
- Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast
- At this Moment
- Johnny B. Good
- Moonlight over Naples (instrumental guitar)
- his Louise Mandrell-style medley of instrument playing
- Danke Schoen
- American Trilogy

The criticism about Newton's voice is fair. He cheats his way through the song, knowing he's got to his the last note. That's never more evident that when he hits the 90 minute mark and tries to get through the "Dixieland" leg of "American Trilogy."

The Dean Martin anecdotes go on a long time.

But I'll give Newton credit - he still looks like he's having a good time. The audience I was in was responsive. The PG humor and 1999 Viagra jokes are part of the act. Chuckle, chuckle.

I wouldn't (and didn't) pay full price for the tickets.
