I like the idea of light at the end of the day, but I'm afraid that if they stick us in a time zone with Utah and Colorado that they'll then try to put us in the 10th Circuit in the federal judicial system. No thanks.

It would also move primetime tv viewing from 8-11 to 7-10. The early primetime schedule is for people who live in the middle of the country, where they believe in things like "early to bed, early to rise." We are not those people.

I supported Dina in the last election, but won't do so this time. She was a huge disappointment and her decision to join the "Blue Dog" group is reflective of that fact. The 1st Congressional district is made up of many Latinos, but is also made up of many progressives, liberals and people who want Congress to work for the people, rather than mega-corporations. Dina proved that she is far too conservative to represent our interests.

Go Chris G! Court fees should not be used to finance a personal lobbyist for the judges. The judges have proven themselves to be seasoned politicians, as reflected by their successful elections, and they are fully capable of lobbying for themselves. This is not a legitimate use of court imposed fees.

I do not know how many public defenders there are versus how many district attorneys. I do know that non-entry level public defenders haven't had a pay increase in years, while the deputy district attorneys formed a collective bargaining unit and demanded pay raises from the County during this time of financial crisis. Perhaps if the DA's would have not demanded pay raises they would have not lost positions.

The County should close most of the rural justice courts - keep one in the north (probably Mesquite), one in the sough (maybe Boulder City), and get rid of the rest. Their caseloads are a fraction of that of urban Clark County and don't justify the expense. This would free up a lot of costs and attorneys could be sent where they are needed.
