It was a three-day Las Vegas whirl for Twilight actress Ashley Greene when she arrived with 12 friends to celebrate her 22nd birthday at Planet Hollywood. For several of the cast, it was the second consecutive weekend romp in Sin City!
The onscreen vampires -- Ashley and co-star Kellan Lutz -- turned up at Cirque du Soleil’s Zumanity at New York-New York with Hairspray cutie Brittany Snow in newly darkened hair. Kellan ordered a vodka cocktail, while Ashley and Nip/Tuck’s Brittany ordered the horny margarita, laughing that they “were up for anything.”
The group posed for photos with the cast and loaded up on chocolate-covered strawberries and bananas to watch the show. Spywitnesses reported that Kellan and Brittany looked “ really cozy,” sparking budding romance stories from Hollywood gossips!
The next night, the 12-pack celebrated Ashley’s actual birthday at Prive in Planet Hollywood. They took over a VIP banquette by the DJ booth and ordered up champagne and Patron tequila shots. At the stroke of midnight, Ashley toasted her friends as she was presented with a cake. They danced and partied until 2 a.m. before calling it a night.
A week ago, it was 17-year-old actor Taylor Lautner who celebrated his birthday in a foursome with a visit to Criss Angel’s Cirque du Soleil Believe at the Luxor.
While staying at Planet Hollywood, the Twilight cast and manager Adam Seid made a return visit for dinner at Koi. Ashley also had a birthday dinner at the adjoining Strip House with its famous 24-layer chocolate cake!
Also part of the birthday celebration: Ashley joined Closer co-stars Raymond Cruz and Michael Paul Chan in the front row at Tony ’n’ Tina’s Wedding at Planet Hollywood. When wrestler “Rowdy” Roddy Piper burst into the newlyweds’ reception as an official crasher, the trio were on their feet leading the cheering squad for his guest appearance! Ashley also took part in the champagne toast and sampled the wedding cake.
*I had my fingers crossed during last night’s Oscar ceremony that Slumdog Millionaire would win Best Picture and Best Director. Not because it was filmed in unlikely Mumbai, India, and thus the ultimate underdog, but because its star Dev Patel, I learned yesterday, hails from my hometown of Harrow, some 20 miles from London. It’s also where Sir Elton John grew up and where my hero Sir Winston Churchill went to school! So many sincere congratulations to Slumdog and its eight Oscar wins, including for Best Picture and Best Director Danny Boyle!
*2009 Miss America Katie Stam attended Leeza Gibbons’ “Night to Make a Difference” Oscar party at Mr. Chow’s in Los Angeles last night as a guest of “the hottest hairdresser in Hollywood” and pageant judge Ken Paves. Ken’s also the owner of his salon at the newly opened Eleven Spa here in Town Square, which threw its own Oscar viewing party. Also attending was Miss America host Mario Lopez. Leeza, Olivia Newton-John and David Foster, a Vegas regular, organized the 10-course dinner. David, who will be presenting his “Friends” concert at Mandalay Bay on May 9, brought his teen protege Charice Pempengco with songstress Thelma Houston to entertain. It was all to raise awareness for the Memory Foundation and the Cancer and Wellness Center charities. Among the guests that Katie met were Jessica Biel, Cindy Crawford, hair king and Patron owner John Paul DeJoria, Fran Drescher, Hilary Duff, Melissa Gilbert, Erin Gray, Tony Hawk, Slash and Perla Hudson, Larry King, Holly Robinson Peete, Dr. Phil McGraw and Jane Seymour. Leeza, John Paul and Hilary will be attending the Siegfried & Roy Keep Memory Alive benefit here this Saturday at the Bellagio.
