Early Angel, getting his wings
I don't know about y'all, but there was a time when I was really into the glam-metal bands. Early Motley Crue, the Scorps, Whitesnake, Dokken, Cinderella, Ratt, Poison, those types. Never embraced the fashion, or the enlivened hairstyles, but did fancy the music.
Same with Criss Angel. I've read elsewhere (Richard Abowitz's goldplateddoor.com blog, picked up by Norm Clarke in the R-J, to give fair and proper credit) that Angel has caused something of a kerfuffle this week at the Miss Universe Pageant because it has been learned he has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
No worries there — Angel is more apt to shoot his mouth off than brandish a weapon on national TV.
Oh, Angel is a judge in the pageant, set to air Monday from Mandalay Bay. So he sort of has to be at the show, gun or no, even if pageant officials risk having him arrive five hours late.
But here is some inspired music-video footage from Angel, long before he gained worldwide fame with "Mindfreak" and started his "Believe" production show at Luxor (you can view it in The Kats Report on LasVegasSun.com). In its own way, it is pure magic.
