Wrestling and Mindfreak fans joined forces to give magician Criss Angel an extraordinary welcome at last night’s WWE Raw matchup at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, Ore. Our thanks to World Wrestling Entertainment for providing these ringside photos to Vegas today.

Criss made the round-trip private jet flight despite being under the weather and on medication, and he will still complete rehearsals on new illusions this afternoon at the Luxor and perform two Cirque du Soleil Believe shows tonight.

WWE kept him busy last night on the two-hour live broadcast performing magic backstage with a number of WWE stars, and then it was time for him to enter the ring before the battle between WWE founder Vince McMahon and John Cena.

Criss walked the wrestler’s runway and into the ring and talked to fans and the TV audience before Vince grabbed the microphone and threatened to make his rival wrestler John disappear. Criss didn’t have to perform the illusion in the ring because Vince used four other fighters in the tag-team match to defeat his opponent.

Fans raved on blog sites today that it was one of the great episodes of WWE and sets up an ultimate showdown in three weeks. Criss followed in last week’s footsteps of Cheech & Chong as guest host.

Criss hypnotized one of the wrestlers to stop her singing and also plucked a thread from the twins’ wrestling costume and ate it, and then miraculously pulled it from his eye in a stunt that had even the hard-boiled commentators saying what they’d seen was unbelievable!
