Platinum blond bombshell Holly Madison has renewed her contract for the hot striptease spectacular Peepshow at Planet Hollywood through to the end of next year, and she’s negotiated extra vacation time so that her friend and Holly’s World cast mate Angel Porrino can step into her high-heeled shoes when she’s away.
The new deal was made official yesterday by Planet Hollywood executives, although Vegas DeLuxe reported it nearly four weeks ago. Since arriving in Las Vegas, Holly has become The Strip’s official ambassador and is a tireless volunteer for local charities and a booster of our tourism attractions. She even has her debut book, about a single girl’s guide to Las Vegas, to be published on Valentine’s Day.
Holly also has renewed for Season 2 of her hit E! Entertainment series Holly’s World, which is now airing worldwide. It was just added to French TV networks under the title Hollies Follies! Filming is expected to start next month or early in the New Year for spring airdates.
“I couldn’t be happier to have signed on with Peepshow for another year,” Holly said. “It’s the most fun job in the world!”
*Meantime, Holly’s Holly’s World co-star and Playboy Playmate Laura Croft has just launched her new online store IHateLauraCroft.com. In addition to the sexy 2011 calendar that we’ve reported here at Vegas DeLuxe comes a slew of other products, including this HD computer desktop wallpaper, a mouse pad, autographed headshots and Playboy magazines with her topless pictorial and of course the calendar.
Wicked whispers & racy rumors
3D TV is coming to Las Vegas in a big way. Casts of our Cirque Du Soleil Beatles Love at The Mirage have filmed their new promos in the technology, and the two 30- and 60-second 3D spots are being edited now for early 2011 release. The Wealth Network will be out at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend filming in 3D, and they’ll be back for the NASCAR Victory Lap on The Strip next month. I’m also hearing first talk about 12 new monthly 3D TV specials to be shot here with our Strip headliners and casino operators. It’s early in the negotiation stages, but two major Strip headliners might be vacating their showroom next spring in an eye-popping scenario, while at the same time, I’m reliably hearing that two beloved singers who call Las Vegas home will land two other theaters -- one on and the other just off The Strip. Five separate but all-night-long-linked events are being discussed as a kickoff to a Las Vegas Fashion Week with one high-fashion designer as host presenting his new designs after a dinner as a massive fundraiser for one of our top local charities. A large animated frog that sings Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places” has been added to Steve Wynn’s Lake of Dreams attraction at the Wynn, and waiters at chef David Walzog’s new Lakeside Grill tell me that Garth comes to see it when he’s in town. He loves it!
*It’s a historic first: Five of the world’s best chefs who have never collaborated are set Wednesday for the James Beard Foundation gala in New York. All of them have restaurants here in Las Vegas. Flying in from their French headquarters are Alain Ducasse (Mix at Mandalay Bay); Francois Payard (Caesars Palace); Joel Robuchon (MGM Grand); and Guy Savoy (Caesars Palace); plus, Bellagio/Aria restaurant operator Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who is based in Manhattan. Congratulations also to Guy, who this morning learned that the AOL Web site Luxist has named his Caesars Palace restaurant one of the Top Five in America. Luxist also named the Strip House brand, which has a Planet Hollywood outlet, as Best Steakhouse in America.
*The 11th Annual Latin Grammy Awards are set for Thursday at Mandalay Bay Events Center, and to kick it off, there will be a 6-hour street party at Fremont Street Experience Sunday with performances by Horoscopos de Durango, Montes de Durango, Potro de Sinaloa, Los Mas Buascados and El Y Ella. The Latin Grammy Street Parties, now in their eighth year, have been on a monthlong tour and wrap here this weekend ahead of the Univision broadcast.
*Miss Oregon Brook Roberts and Miss Kentucky Mallory Ervin, who competed for Miss America at Planet Hollywood, and their partners raced through Russia on the most recent episode of CBS’ The Amazing Race, with Brook finishing 2nd and Mallory in 6th. Their race around the world continues Sunday. Meantime, this year’s 53 candidates, shown in this official first photo with Miss America Caressa Cameron, arrive here Jan. 6 for the Jan. 15 ABC telecast, and while here, two Strip headliners will welcome them.
Olympic champion swimmer Michael Phelps has been cutting a swath through our nightlife scene this week on three consecutive nights. What happened to that rigorous training schedule for 2012? First, he was at Blush in the Wynn, then at N9NE Steakhouse and Ghostbar in the Palms and last night at Tao in The Venetian with a group that included poker pro Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari. After dinner, the fun continued at Tao’s Worship Thursday party. Also at Tao last night were David Ortiz and Bill Hall from the Boston Red Sox and former New York Giants star Michael Strahan with Eddie Murphy’s ex Nicole, who had partied with Phelps at Blush two nights earlier. Rapper, producer and Grammy winner T-Pain watched Jabbawockeez’s MUS.I.C. at the Monte Carlo. T-Pain, who was brought onstage during the show, met with the MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew Season 1 winners backstage for photos.
MLB Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson dined at N9NE Steakhouse in the Palms and watched the Los Angeles Lakers- Sacramento Kings game. Across the room, adult film star Tera Patrick dined with five friends. Racecar driver Marco Andretti enjoyed champagne before heading to Ghostbar. He returned the next night with six friends for dinner. UFC President Dana White partied at The Playboy Club. Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. dined for a second consecutive night at Mr. Lucky’s 24/7 at the Hard Rock Hotel. The stars of West Coast Customs hosted at Lavo in the Palazzo with Ryan Friedlinghaus from Street Customs. Jimmy Houston, “America’s Favorite Fisherman,” dined at Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Cantina with fellow star fisherman Roland Martin.
