Sad but true. A real shame! Executives at the Wynn announced today that they are regretfully ending the special-engagement run of Sinatra: Dance With Me at the Encore Theater. It opened to critical acclaim Dec. 11 in honor of Frank Sinatra’s birthday and closes with a final performance April 23. It was given one extension to April 30 with a last-chance heavy marketing and advertising blitz.
Unfortunately, as great and spectacular as the show is, visitors and locals didn’t want its beauty, art and musical history with the brilliant brass orchestra and Twyla Tharp’s imaginative choreography. So now it closes here, and we lose its world-class dancers and marvelous musicians.
You have 17 days left to see its magic. The good news is that it will go out on a national tour, thus the week-earlier closing notice. Las Vegas must support great theater so that we keep our title of The Entertainment Capital of the World and not let the best of shows get away.
