It’s less than one month until the big May 7 fight between “Sugar” Shane Mosley and Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao at MGM Grand Garden Arena, and three-division world champion Shane opened his high-altitude Big Bear, Calif., training camp and gym to photographers. Thanks to Chris Farina of Top Rank for these photographs of a relaxed and confident Shane as he worked out with trainer Nazim Richardson.

Shane said: “I know how difficult this fight is. Pacquiao fires punches from all kinds of angles, is on his toes during late rounds and gives you different looks. But pure power can take over all of that. I know I will be able to get good, hard punches onto Pacquiao.

“Plus, I have the biggest advantage of all with my chief trainer Nazim Richardson. He’s never lost a fight against a Top Rank champion. My energy is great, at a very high level. I have a lot of power in both hands. I know Pacquiao will go right to the attack, which is a great advantage for me."

The Pomona, Calif., native goes into the May 7 battle for the WBO welterweight championship with a record of 46-6-1 and 39 KOs against Pacquiao’s 52-3-2 and 38 KOs. Their fight is the main event of a blockbuster card that will be produced and distributed live pay-per-view by Showtime.

The boxers arrive the week of May 2 for pre-fight activities at MGM Grand, and the bout is expected to attract numerous Hollywood celebrities. Shane says that after he wins, he hopes to meet President Obama and play basketball with him.

Miss Knockout girls

Meantime, three gorgeous Las Vegas girls also are getting ready for the big fight. Jeannie Duffy, Michelle Tarajcak and Danielle Davidson are in the gym in preparation for their debut as the Miss Knockout ring-girl winners from the recent Studio 54 contest at MGM Grand.
