Superstar Celine Dion celebrated manager husband Rene Angelil’s 69th birthday over the weekend, and she wound up with a gift herself. Her new show premiering at Caesars Palace on March 15 has just passed the $10 million mark at The Colosseum box office.
I’m told that it’s the fastest $10 million sale in the history of the venue, and Caesars Palace President Gary Selesner says the first set of performances through April 17 will be sold out. I think that means $1 million in revenue from the 4,300 seats nightly.
Congratulations, and Happy Birthday, Rene!
*Congratulations to Flamingo headliners Donny & Marie Osmond, who celebrate a milestone today. It was back in 1976 on this day that they debuted their TV show on ABC.
*Michael Jackson’s father Joe Jackson, who lives here, has become a 50-50 partner with French perfumer Franck Rouas in a new Michael Jackson-named fragrance venture. They met at a Las Vegas trade convention and say the new scents will be inspired by plants and flowers the late singer had on his Neverland Ranch. The perfumes -- Tribute to Michael -- will premiere in March.
