Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has lined up more than 600 celebrities, business leaders, charity donors and entertainment supporters for the 11th annual fundraising gala for the Padres organization that improves the quality of life for Latino children in America with cancer.
The organization is honoring my friend, Emmy Award-winning TV journalist Giselle Fernandez, and AEG and its CEO President Tim Leiweke, who produce the Caesars Palace and The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel concerts. Celebrities expected for the weekend-long events at the Tropicana, starting tonight with a VIP reception and Celebrity Poker Tournament, include Daisy Fuentes, Mario Lopez, Andy Garcia, Sugar Ray Leonard, Jessica Alba, Edward James Olmos, Felicity Huffman and Michael Jackson choreographer/director Kenny Ortega.
Comedy star George Lopez will MC with Eva presenting Mexican rock queen Alejandro Guzman, American Idol finalist Stefano Langone and America’s Got Talent soprano Barbara Padilla for the entertainment. Eva also will host the after-party at Tropicana’s nightclub. I’ll be there along with photographer Tom Donoghue for full coverage.
