Fergie at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas
Fergie at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas
Pop princess Fergie arrived in Las Vegas yesterday and dazzled our desert kingdom in a ravishing off-the-shoulder red dress complete with a shorter blonde ’do and a killer-megawatt smile. She spelled G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S from head to toe without even whispering the word from her smash hit song.
Fergie unveiled her $300,000 wax double at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas at the Venetian and absolutely loved her face-to-face look at herself. Here are YouTube videos of the unveiling courtesy of Madame Tussauds and Richard Corey.
The family of Fergie, birth name Stacy Ann Ferguson -- handsome husband actor Josh Duhamel, in a sharp-looking suit, mom Terry, sister Lesley, father Jon and a group of girlfriends -- cheered as she counted down from 5 to 1 to drop the red cover revealing her wax double.
“I’m amazed,” she giggled. ”I can’t tell you what an honor this is to be at Madame Tussauds. I dreamed of this when I was a kid and started out in the music business. It’s unbelievable, but it’s come true. It’s wonderful to be an L.A. girl, but now I’ll always be here in Vegas. I love this city, and we always have the best time when we visit.
She laughed with me, saying: “Josh and I could take her home tonight for a threesome! I think he wants to fondle her! It’s OK; we’re a very affectionate family.” To prove it, she kissed the wax figure, held its breasts and even bumped backsides with it. “I’m dying over this. I’m tripping. She’s prettier than me,” Fergie said. “Me in 3D? It’s beautiful. She’s amazing, and I love her already.”
After photographers snapped their official shots, Fergie posed with her family around the newest addition to the world famous wax museum. Our thanks to Erik Kabik, Tom Donoghue, Scott Harrison, Glenn Pinkerton and the Las Vegas Sun’s Christopher DeVargas for all the knockout, G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S shots.
Fergie, who revealed that she’s about to launch her own swimsuit and footwear line, told us that she’d selected her Fergalicious red dress to give herself a Vegas look: “It’s feminine and Mad Men-inspired. This is such a special moment for me, I wanted it to contrast with my onstage persona they have on the model -- dominant and strong. It’s my costume she’s wearing, a cat suit based on a futuristic, dark Debbie Harry video.
“The sitting process for the figure was a long process, and I was in a Wonder Woman-type pose re-creating what I do in every show. They had cameras everywhere -- even on the top of my head! They marked every inch of my body when they measured it. Every hair on my figure’s head was individually placed, and they even got my cowlick right!”
While talking with her mom and sister, I learned that the two daughters often used to impersonate my English voice because their mom, who is a speech therapist, used it to improve pronunciations. Who would have ever guessed that?! Fergie confirmed it when I asked.
After appearances this weekend at the IHeartRadio Music Festival at MGM Grand Garden Arena, Fergie and The Black Eyed Peas depart for concerts in Brazil, Paraguay, Korea and Hong Kong. Fergie and Josh stayed at the Venetian while in town and dined at Valentino.
