It’s no secret that “Peepshow” at Planet Hollywood headliner Holly Madison loves animals and is heavily involved with our valley’s largest animal shelter the Animal Foundation. On Sunday, she joined Flamingo magician headliner Nathan Burton and yours truly to introduce the 50 furry contestants competing in the 9th Annual Best in Show at Orleans Arena.

The cuddly canines competed in the foundation’s largest premier fundraiser to benefit the more than 50,000 lost, unwanted and abandoned animals passing through Lied Animal Shelter’s doors each year. All the handsome hounds were available for adoption after the show.

Nathan somehow managed to “vanish” a showgirl and “appear” me simultaneously inside a box in the middle of the arena -- not just to the amazement of the audience all around us, but also to me. I still have no idea where I came from at that moment.

You can read a full report by our colleague Jackie Valley of the Las Vegas Sun. Thanks to Steve Marcus of the Sun and Scott Harrison for their photo galleries of Best in Show and Holly, respectively.

Today, Holly does it all over again. She’s at the Animal Foundation to deliver a truckload of goodies collected by the Hard Rock Cafe, who has adopted the Animal Foundation as its charity of choice this month.
