Jane’s Addiction, Stone Temple Pilots announce L.V. shows; Shania adds Colosseum dates

Another slate of headlining artists new and old will be heading to Las Vegas in coming months per concert announcements made today by local venues.

Alt-rock legends Jane’s Addiction will play The Cosmopolitan’s Boulevard Pool on Sept. 7 at 9 p.m. The gig is part of a worldwide tour behind their 2011 release “The Great Escape Artist.” Tickets are $50 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster and The Cosmopolitan’s website.

Continuing in the vein of seminal alt-rock, Stone Temple Pilots will perform at The Pearl in the Palms on Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. as part of a tour commemorating the 20th anniversary of their debut album “Core.” Tickets start at $49 and go on sale Friday at noon at the Pearl box office.

The Hard Rock Hotel revealed four more artists to play its summer “Soundwaves” concert series held poolside at the hotel-casino’s Paradise Beach. First up is L.A.’s indie tour-de-force the Airborne Toxic Event on July 20 at 8 p.m.; tickets are $25. Next is Kottonmouth Kings and NOFX, who play as part of SRH Fest 2012 on July 27 and 28, respectively. The former will be performing with guests Dilated Peoples and hed P.E., with tickets at $27; the later will play with Unwritten Law, and tickets are $34.50. Finally, Hasidic rapper Matisyahu and Dirty Heads perform Sept. 15 at 8 p.m., with tickets at $35. Tickets for all shows are on sale and can be purchased via Ticketmaster or at the Hard Rock box office.

Following up last year’s local performances, Motown legends The Temptations will perform at the Orleans Showroom on July 7 and 8 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $34.95 and can be purchased at any Coast Casinos box office or through the Orleans’ website.

And The Colosseum at Caesars Palace announced that Shania Twain has added 14 performances to her upcoming production “Shania: Still the One,” which kicks off Dec. 1. The new spring 2013 dates are March 19, 20, 23-24, 26-27 and 29-30 and April 2-3, 5-6 and 9-10. Tickets are $55 to $250 and can be purchased online at or
