It’s the official start of Spring Break today as cast members of “Jersey Shore” and “The Challenge: Battle of the Exes” join forces in a takeover of the Palms. MTV’s three music cable channels will be poolside despite our cool temperatures for what will certainly be one of the biggest parties of the year broadcast to a global audience of more than half a billion homes.

It’s the second consecutive year for the Palms to host MTV’s Spring Break, but the alliance between the casino resort began in 2002 with “The Real World 12” and continued with “Summer on the Strip” in 2005 and the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards.

The MTV celebrities who will meet and greet college students and host exclusive screening parties are Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, Deena Nicole Cortese and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro from “Jersey Shore” and Leroy and Naomi from “Battle of the Exes.”

There also will be appearances by Amy Acker and Kristin Connolly hosting their movie “The Cabin in the Woods” before its April 13 release. Lauren Hutchinson from “Savage U” and Chanel and Drama from Rob Dyrdek’s “Fantasy Factory” also will party at the Palms.

The lineup of artists is explosive: Young Jeezy, B.o.B., Dev, Big Sean, araabMUZIK and U.K. boy band the Wanted. It’s a three-day, nonstop marathon of party fun, and here’s our Royal Robin Rundown of events:

Performances by Young Jeezy from his hit album “Thug Motivation 103” and B.o.B from his new album “Strange Clouds,” plus screenings of “Cabin in the Woods” and “Battle of the Exes.”

Performances by Dev from “The Night the Sun Came Up,” the Wanted and Big Sean from “Finally Famous,” with Sammi, Deena, Ronnie, Lauren, Chanel and Drama hosting screening parties.

“Jersey Shore” stars host a pool party and araabMUZIK remixes hits.

“This year’s lineup of pool parties and live performances will take it to another level after a successful first year, which brought out thousands of college students. The Palms is thrilled to host MTV Spring Break 2012, and once again the Palms will be the ultimate Spring Break destination,” Palms President Joseph Magliarditi said.

The Spring Break parties continue for two weekends, as MGM Resorts teams up with Red Bull for more excitement and energy, making Las Vegas the biggest playground in the country.

Skynyrd Syzzle, Hang From the Sky and Crash Kit are at Lynyrd Skynyrd BBQ & Bar in the Excalibur.

DJ Jerzy and Super Cr3w are at Monte Carlo, and Big Sir, New F-O’s and DJ Jerzy are at New-York New York.

The Fling, Mad Planet and Weird Is the New Cool are at the Luxor pool, Hundred in the Hands and Keyboard Kid are at New York-New York, and DJ Earworm is at Tabu Ultra Lounge in MGM Grand.

Ignite the Night and DJ Evil One are at Monte Carlo.

Autoerotique, Peace Treaty and Metric & Bones are at Moorea Beach Club at Mandalay Bay, and the Limousines, Jeremiah Red and DJ Evil One are at New York-New York.

Ryan Sheckler is at Wet Republic at MGM Grand, Roxy Gunn Project is at Dick’s Last Resort at the Excalibur, and Mix Master Mike is at LAX in the Luxor.

Spring Break continues through April 30, and we’ll add party and performance listings as they’re announced.
