It’s the season finale of “Joan Knows Best” with Melissa Rivers and her mother, comedienne Joan Rivers. They learn that one of their assistants is headed to Las Vegas to renew her wedding vows, so Joan turns it into a wild and raunchy weekend for TV cameras.

The episode airs Tuesday on WE, and my friend Melissa told me: “In Joan’s hands, it got a little wild and raunchy. She is wilder than me! We come to Las Vegas and it’s a great time with lots of fun and games. It turns into a wasted bachelorette party exactly the way you’d envision for Vegas.

“Mom is 78, and she’s acting like a 23-year-old. She gets right out there. It’s always shocks and surprises with my mother. One can never rest with her and think everything is normal. Always figure something is about to happen. I’m much more conservative than she is.”

Melissa told me that their show will be renewed for next season because the “rating numbers have been tremendous.” Her own show “Fashion Police,” for which she also serves as Joan’s boss as executive producer, also was just extended -- and expanded from a half hour to a full hour.

”We are thrilled with our Vegas finale and excited it’s taking place in Vegas,” she told me. I had to ask: “Does she ever think that her behavior and her remarks are outrageous, or that it’s just her being completely natural?” Said Melissa: “I spent my entire life going, ‘Oh, dear God,’ and cringing here and there, but again, that’s my mom. She really does say what we all think.” We’ll have my full interview with the mother and daughter Monday before the Tuesday finale.

It hasn’t been announced yet, but, on good authority, I can report that a major ultra lounge tied to a hit show at a Strip hotel will shut down and be transformed into a new venue. It’s all part of a major restaurant re-evaluation going on there. Motley Crue plans to perform their new record “Sex” on the dual summer tour with KISS that was officially announced Tuesday.

Adrienne Maloof of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and her cosmetic surgeon husband Dr. Paul Nassif are opening their Blizz Frozen Yogurt in MGM Grand, and co-stars Kyle Richards, Camille Grammer and Mauricio Umansdky are expected Saturday afternoon.

Jerry Kramer and John Schadler, managing partners of our hometown advertising agency SK+G, were filmed for AMC’s docu-series “The Pitch,” which premieres April 30. They battled a New York agency in a campaign for a national brand. The reality TV show is produced for AMC by the masterminds behind “Project Runway” and “Undercover Boss.”

The first-ever EA Sports Bar, where you can play golf against Tiger Woods or battle with football’s John Madden, is opening at the Cosmopolitan at month’s end promising a video game environment for fans, including PlayStations, the day’s sporting events and EA sports games set in nine living room layouts.

ACM AWARDS ADDITIONS: Sara Evans, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban have been added as performers for April 1’s three-hour CBS broadcast of the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards from MGM Grand Garden Arena. Additionally, 2 Broke Girls’ Beth Behrs and “Entertainment Tonight’s” Nancy O’Dell have been added as presenters.

Hot off the grill! Two major celebrations have been added to the 2012 Vegas Uncork’d events presented by Bon Appetit here over Mother’s Day weekend. The first on May 10 is Wolfgang Puck’s 20th anniversary of Spago luncheon at Caesars Palace -- Wolf, the first star chef in Las Vegas, started the fine dining revolution here. Wolf and his executive chefs David Robins and Eric Klein will prepare a four-course extravaganza.

That same night, chef Michel Richard makes his Vegas Uncork’d debut with a Master Series dinner at his Central in Caesars. Here’s a YouTube video of Vegas Uncork’d chefs setting a Guinness World Record for simultaneously popping 308 corks.

Congratulations to Joseph Leibowitz, who has been appointed executive chef of Tableau, the fine-dining restaurant in Steve Wynn’s five-diamond Tower Suites. Joseph hails from Tavern on the Green in New York and worked as executive sous chef with Alex Stratta for more than six years at the Wynn.

“Jersey Shore” cast members Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, Deena Nicole Cortese and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro partied at Hyde in the Bellagio while taking a break from MTV Spring Break hosting duties at the Palms. UFC legend and “The Expendables” star Randy Couture had lunch today at Greens and Proteins in Henderson. Randy enjoyed a bison steak and a chocolate avocado banana smoothie. Artists from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, celebrating their two-night Smith Center for the Performing Arts engagement, donned sparkly dresses and funky suits at Lavo in the Palazzo on Wednesday night as they danced to every song played by DJ Crooked.

Las Vegas BMX pro dirt jumper Ricardo Laguna on Wednesday night hosted a viewing party of his new MTV 3 reality TV series “The Ricardo Laguna Project” for his cast and nearly 100 friends and fans, including hypnotist Anthony Cools, at Insert Coin(s). And “Magic & Mayhem” headliner Michael Turco is winning raves for his unique act at V Theater in Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile and has agreed to perform it for military families at Nellis Air Force Base’s youth center next weekend for Operation Egg-stravaganza.

Rio headliners Penn & Teller are honored at the Nevada Entertainers Hall of Fame at the UNLV College of Fine Arts. Tattoo artist Kat Von D hosts her first solo art show “New American Beauty” at Sephora in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Kat, who recently dated Sandra Bullock’s adulterous ex Jesse James, has created eight limited-edition art prints that she’ll sign and pose with for photographs, and the first $20,000 will be donated to the Art of Elysium for critically ill children.

Comedy impressionist Frank Caliendo will play the Venetian for the first time ever for two consecutive weekends starting tonight through Sunday and then March 29-April 1. He’s still seen every week on Fox’s NFL Sunday pregame show. Murray Sawchuck of “America’s Got Talent” and “Pawn Stars” headlines the Gold Coast magic show with English beauty Chloe Louise Crawford and Doug “Lefty” Leferovich through Sunday before leaving for a tour of Tahiti on April 7.

Nokiesi, Vampilla and ZZZ’s play Japan Nite at Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip. Las Vegas artist Nick Blackham shows his latest abstract paintings at the new Lily Bar & Lounge in the Bellagio. And UNLVino kicks off with “Bubble-licious” honoring CEO Tony Hsieh at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.

It’s a return ticket to ride for rocker Rod Stewart and Playboy’s Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett as they’re back in town for a star-packed weekend, with monster trucks and racecars also providing thrills and spills. Plus, RPM Nightclub closes after a three-month run at Tropicana, and Azure at the Palazzo opens for another summer season.
