Fresh off his win for Album of the Year for “Chief” at the 2012 Country Music Association Awards in Nashville last Thursday, singer Eric Church took to the stage Saturday night as headliner of his “Blood, Sweat and Beers Tour” at Mandalay Bay Events Center.
Singers Justin Moore and Kip Moore -- no relation -- served as Church’s opening acts. Church won the Academy of Country Music’s New Soloist of the Year Award in 2011. Justin Moore was nominated for a 2011 American Country Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and is nominated again this year.
Kip Moore is a multiple ACA nominee this year: New Artist and Single of the Year and Video of the Year in the New Artist category for “Somethin’ ’Bout a Truck.” The ACAs are at Mandalay Bay Events Center on Monday, Dec. 10, with singer Trace Adkins and actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth returning as hosts.
Church in recent years has performed with Toby Keith at Red Rock Resort and downtown’s Fremont Street Experience. Thanks to Glenn Pinkerton of Las Vegas News Bureau for his photo gallery of the three country boys taking over the Strip on a Saturday night.
