Global headlines might be created here Saturday when retired U.S. military officials and one senior British Ministry of Defense official meet at our National Atomic Testing Museum for a public discussion about their experiences with UFO phenomena. They are promising to reveal never-before-told secrets. NATM is affiliated with the Smithsonian and features a controversial Area 51 exhibit.

My pal UFO expert Lee Spiegel from AOL/Huffington Post is flying in to cover it, so you know it’s going to make news. Speakers include lead UFO investigator and author Col. John Alexander, U.S. Air Force Col. Bill Coleman, Project Blue Book Director Col. Robert Hood and Base Commander Col. Charles Halt.

My mentalist pal the Amazing Kreskin, who performed a recent run at the Riviera, weighed in on UFOs in a funny new clip today on YouTube for a Canadian comedian who doubles as a lookalike for Larry King.

WOMAN OF THE YEAR: Magnificent Mitzi Gaynor, , 81 years young, will be Nevada Ballet Theater’s Woman of the Year at the glittering Black and White gala Jan. 26 at the Bellagio. Here’s a YouTube video of the still glamorous, still singing and still dancing “Mitzi Gaynor Live! My Life Behind the Sequins.”

Mitzi Gaynor

Marvelous Mitzi made her Strip debut at the Flamingo in 1961 and has been connected to Las Vegas ever since. She has made 17 films and 9 TV specials, has 17 Emmy Award nominations and is hailed as the top female nightclub and concert attraction of her era. Her mother was a dancer, too, and father a musician. Mitzi’s datebook is still busy, going out as far as Delaware in February, and now the award here to high kick-off the New Year!

3) The Jabbawockeez confirmed this morning that their run at the Monte Carlo will end Oct. 30 as they get ready to premiere a new production in their own theater next door at the Luxor in the spring, as reported first here at Vegas DeLuxe.

TWO PEAS IN A POD: No-spin Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly and rants-and-references comedian Dennis Miller team up for their straight-up-truth assault “The Bold and Fresh” at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace on Dec. 7. Presumably, they will have switched their material then to deal with the presidential election results.

DISH AT THE PALMS: Top Las Vegas restaurants and chefs mixed with amazing cocktails, wines and spirits, and add a dash of music knockouts Zowie Bowie (Chris Phillips and Marley Taylor, and you have the perfect recipe for the fourth annual DISH benefit for our food bank Three Square. It’s a three-hour feast of food and big-band sounds poolside at the Palms. First-timers up for grubs include Bagatelle at the Tropicana and downtown’s Bar + Bistro.

Other participants: Chris Herrin’s Meat & Three isn’t even open yet, but they’ll have a sneak-peek tasting; Artisanal Foods will be offering charcuterie and other gourmet treats; pastry chef Megan Romano will have sweets from her hot, new restaurant Chocolate & Spice; and Rhythm Kitchen will serve its unique Cajun cuisine.

While on a weeklong vacation in Big Sur, Luxor headliner comedian Carrot Top ran into actress Ashley Judd also relaxing there, and they had lunch and dinner.

U.S. figure skating champion Ryan Bradley and girlfriend Erin Reed were guests of the handsome hunks at Chippendales in the Rio on Wednesday.

Comedians Brad Garrett and pal Ray Romano are back for their Maximum Hope Foundation charity poker tournament Saturday at MGM Grand. Expect to see many celebrities playing for the cause.

And at “Zumanity’s” ninth-anniversary celebration Tuesday night, gymnast Steven Legendre was picked from the audience to go onstage for the closing orgy act. He’s in town for tonight’s Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastic Champions at the Thomas & Mack. Steven went to the 2012 London Olympics as an alternate, and his teammates cheered him at New York-New York. We’ll have our “Zumanity” celebration report next week.
