It’s bound to be a platinum party weekend in Las Vegas when you have two birthdays -- one for a nightlife impresario and another for a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition model -- the seventh-anniversary of a nightclub, plus, Snoop Dogg/Lion in the house.
Tao Group’s Seven Deadly Sins weekend commemorating seven years of revelry on the Strip -- that’s like, 28 years in normal years -- commenced with the birthday celebration of Tao Group partner Jason Strauss at Lavo in the Palazzo. Guests toasting Strauss: Rumer Willis, Jayson Blair, Mark Salling, Wilmer Valderrama, Ben Barnes and Nicholas Hoult.
The group dined on signature favorites at the Italian restaurant before heading upstairs to the boutique club to listen to the sounds of DJ Politik. Also with the group and celebrating her 21st birthday: Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Nina Agdal. Legal now!
At sister hotspot Tao in The Venetian, former Disney stars Drew Seeley and Lucas Grabeel enjoying friend DJ Jessica Who’s set.
SEVEN DEADLY SINS AT TAO
The party continued the next evening for Tao’s Seven Deadly Sins to mark seven years, and partygoers packed the mega-club for a performance by Snoop Dogg/Lion. Strauss once again was in the spotlight for his birthday.
Agdal donned a blue Alaia halter dress and Sam Edelman heels at dinner before heading upstairs to the nightspot. Upon arrive at her VIP table, she was presented with a birthday cake, grabbed a giant teddy bear head, put it on -- why not? -- and danced.
Willis and Blair were across the dance floor at a table. Allison Melnick, Valderrama, Salling, Hoult and Barnes also were enjoying Tao’s milestone. Later in the night, Snoop performed several hits, including “Gin & Juice,” “I Wanna Love You” and “Young, Wild & Free,” as well as new material.
After Dogg/Lion’s mini-set, DJ Vice took over the DJ booth while Busta Rhymes and his entourage made their way to the owners table to celebrate Strauss’ birthday. Tao made a special montage for the celebration and presented him with a cake.
Also at Tao: Terrell Thomas (New York Giants) and MLB legend Ken Griffey Jr., in town for the 2013 Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational. Thanks to Al Powers of Powers Imagery for his photo gallery.
