Socialite Paris Hilton has been globe trotting the past year as a nightclub DJ while simultaneously expanding her ever-growing business empire.

Tonight on New Year’s Eve, she makes her professional DJ Strip debut at Hyde Bellagio after arriving Monday night with sister Nicky Hilton to watch Britney Spears’ “Piece of Me” at the Axis at Planet Hollywood and party at friend Jeff Beacher’s Madhouse at MGM Grand.

In between her flights returning from Russia and a quick ski trip to Aspen, I had a Q+A session with the heiress, singer and corporate queen I’ve known since she was a teenager.

How did you become interested in a celebrity DJ role?

I have always loved music and putting together different playlists for parties. I’m close friends with some of the world’s best DJs, and I’ve been going to clubs for their shows since I was a teenager, so I’ve picked up some great tips.

I started seriously training about three years ago, and I love it. It’s fun to mix songs that make people happy and want to dance. My family and close friends have always been so supportive, so they really encouraged me to start playing my sets.

You were the hit of hot Ibiza this summer, and you’ve just returned from a cold Siberia and Russia trip. Tell me a little about both extremes and both places!

I had an amazing time in Ibiza this summer where I had a DJ residency at Amnesia, one of the hottest clubs. My “Foam and Diamonds” party sold out every night, and to perform at a foam party with more than 10,000 people was unlike any other experience I’ve had.

Siberia and Russia are so beautiful, it was like a winter wonderland! Being there really put me in the Christmas spirit. All of the fans there were so welcoming and warm. It was nice to meet my fans during my two mall appearances and my DJ set at Manon.

Any other memories from other clubs around the world you’ve played?

I’m so lucky that I get to travel and play for my fans all over the world. I was just in Dubai, where I performed at the Cavalli Club. It was an amazing experience at one of the most gorgeous clubs. I can’t wait to go back.

Now you’re really a world traveler. Any idea what’s already set for 2014? How does 2013 wind up for you?

I traveled a lot in 2013 performing as a DJ and opening Paris Hilton Handbag & Accessories stores. I recently opened my 45th store. It was such a fun year, full of great experiences. In 2014, I plan to travel and open even more stores.

I’ll be releasing my album with Young Money Cash Money Records and will also be returning to Ibiza this summer for my second DJ residency at Amnesia. I’m excited for 2014 to be the best year yet.

How do you deal with jet lag? How do you stay fit before a trip and on the road?

It’s tough to travel all of the time, but I make sure to get as much rest as I can on flights. My trips are usually always for work, so they are full of business meetings, performances, stores openings and different appearances. I make sure to pack a lot of different options for whatever events I may have.

It’s important to stay healthy and eat right. I also make sure to drink a lot of water while I’m traveling. My favorite way to stay in shape when I’m traveling is to do activities like paddle boarding and hiking, so then I can explore and have fun, too.

How do you deal with romance with your hectic schedule? How do you still run your global business empire from the road?

I’m lucky because my boyfriend River (Viiperi) is able to travel with me a lot. We have a fun time exploring different places. Most of my licensees are in different countries, and multiple time zones can be challenging, but we do a great job of staying connected with phone meetings to make sure everything gets done.

I like to fit in as much as I can into a trip, so when I have a DJ performance, it’s great to meet fans who shop at my stores at the same time.

What are you looking forward to at Hyde tonight for New Year’s Eve? What will you be playing?

Hyde is one of the best clubs in the world. I feel so proud to be playing there on the biggest party night of the year! Fans can expect some great music; I like to mix electro-pop and house tracks that make people want to dance. They’ll hear my new single, too, “Good Time” featuring Lil Wayne. I love it because it’s all about being at the best party.

Do you mind working on NYE rather than celebrating with friends at a party?

New Year’s Eve is all about starting out the year with a great night, and to me that means doing what I love, which is sharing my music with my fans. I can’t wait to perform my set and control the party with fun music.

You visit Las Vegas so often, what do you love most? And how do you feel about your first professional DJ debut on the Strip?

Las Vegas is one of the world’s best places to party, the clubs are amazing, and everyone is in the mood to dance and have a great time. The shopping is great, too! All of the top artists and DJs perform there, so I feel really proud to join them and share my music with all of the fans there.

What are you looking forward to in 2014?

I have a lot of exciting projects coming up in 2014. I’ll be releasing my first album with Young Money Cash Money Records with the lead single being my new song “Good Time” featuring Lil Wayne. I'm excited to finally share my new music with fans. I also recently opened my 45th Paris Hilton Handbags & Accessories store in South Africa; they are now in more than 40 countries.

I’m working on new designs and will be opening more locations this year. I’m also working on my 16th fragrance, to follow my fragrance Dazzle. I have decided to follow in my family’s footsteps and get into the hotel and real estate business, and in 2014 my new luxury resort, the Paris Hilton Beach Club, will be opening in the Philippines.

Have you made your New Year’s resolutions?

In 2014, I’d like to spend more time giving back, especially to children all throughout the world. Charity work has always been very important to me, and I try to make time to visit different organizations when I’m traveling for work. In January, I’ll be visiting the Children’s Hospital L.A. to visit patients and help them start off a great New Year.

I also would love to do more work with the Starlight Foundation. I’ll be focusing on doing what I can to help make 2014 a wonderful year for others. I wish all of you the best in 2014, and I hope it is filled with love and happiness!

And of course that old familiar question I always ask you, but inquiring minds want to know, when does Paris settle down and get married?

I would love to settle down someday, get married and have kids, but right now I’m really focusing on my music, brands and businesses. I travel so much for work, and I want to make sure that when I do start a family, I’m able to devote all of my time to it. We’ll have to wait and see what the future holds!
